Age & Source Verification

To obtain the greatest return on your cattle investment, we encourage all members of The Beef Connection to produce Age & Source Verified (ASV) animals. Currently ASV certified cattle earn a $35 - $50 premium per head, and are eligible for the export market, which opens up broader sales opportunities.

For your cattle to qualify as ASV certified, you must enroll in a Process Verified Program (PVP) that documents your farm operations, and certifies that you have accurate calving records for age verification, and control of the cattle’s movements for source verification. This record keeping is well rewarded by the premiums paid for ASV cattle and the additional marketing opportunities it creates. Members can enroll in this program directly through The Beef Connection, which uses AginfoLink as its verification partner. Upon enrollment, we will issue 2-part electronic identification ear tags to help you track your cattle and identify them as ASV certified.
